Words have always fascinated me. I love seeing how they can be sculpted into varied pieces of writing.
My academic background is literary. The stories that humans write, tell or sing are how we make sense of the world. I like to think that my work is a small contribution to the huge patchwork blanket of emotional chaos.
Wether I am writing an essay, theatre, or short stories, my writing is imbued with feeling.
SUBSTACK
My blog is called Word Spew - a Scottish take on the term 'word vomit' (self explanatory).
I post everything ranging from opinion pieces to comical accounts of my life.

BRAIN FREEZE
I wrote Brain Freeze in 2020, a comedy exploring my relationship with sex after surviving cancer, challenging the idea that patients are fragile or one-dimensional.
The 2021 Oxford run at the BT Studio completely sold out and resonated with audiences who saw themselves in the story. It taught me how to shape something deeply personal into a narrative with universal impact.
In 2023, I scaled Brain Freeze to the Edinburgh Fringe, stepping fully into the role of creative director. I handled rewrites, casting, promotional strategy, and technical problem-solving while managing a 15-person team and preserving the integrity of the work.
The production was featured in The Times Magazine. The most rewarding feedback came from audience members who told me they felt seen.
